Required Eligibility for Admission to IIT
The joint admissions exam or JEE is used to allow students at Indian Institute of Technology. To continue academic work in technical training, students must pass the JEE Main Test before first taking the advanced JEE exam. Applicants must register in the Joint Seat Allocation Process after meeting the requirements for the JEE advanced. The detailed procedure for students wishing to enroll in technical education at the IIT is provided below.
JEE Mains:
- A candidate must graduate from a recognized board with a 12th grade diploma in mathematics, physics, and chemistry as required courses.
- Candidates must have obtained at least 75% on the relevant courses to be eligible rights to the general category.
- Candidates who fall under the PwD, scheduled caste, or scheduled tribal categories must have earned at least 65% in the pertinent subjects.
JEE Advanced:
- Candidates must rank among the top 2.5 lakh eligible candidates and pass the JEE main test.
- Only two consecutive years are allowed for a candidate to attempt the JEE Advanced exam.
- Candidates in the restricted categories are granted a five-year relaxation if they were born on or after October 1, 2000.
