Ladli Behan Gas Subsidy 2024: The Madhya Pradesh government made a big announcement on Tuesday, saying that people who benefit from the Ladli Behna scheme will be able to buy gas cylinders for just Rs 450 all year long. This scheme was started by the former Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
On Monday, the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas shared in the Rajya Sabha that the central government has been giving a special subsidy of Rs 200 for each 14.2 Kg LPG cylinder to those enrolled in the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), allowing up to 12 refills a year. The central government lowered the price of domestic LPG by Rs 200 per 14.2 Kg cylinder starting from August 30, 2023.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that both the Ladli Behna scheme and the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries would be able to purchase domestic gas cylinders for Rs 450 each. Earlier that day, he mentioned that this decision, which was approved by the state cabinet in the morning, would take effect just in time for the upcoming Raksha Bandhan festival.
CM Yadav’s Statement for Ladli Behan Gas Subsidy 2024
CM Yadav emphasized that the government is committed to continuing and improving public welfare schemes for the benefit of all citizens. He directed ministers and Principal Secretaries to assess current schemes and introduce new ones as necessary to ensure everyone benefits from government initiatives.
State Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya announced that gas cylinders will be provided to Ladli Behnas for Rs 450, with the state government covering the remaining cost. A total of Rs 160 crore has been allocated for this initiative. State BJP chief VD Sharma commended the government’s decision to offer gas cylinders to Ladli Behnas at a reduced price.

He expressed gratitude for fulfilling the promise made during the assembly elections and providing financial support to around 40 lakh Ladli Behnas just before Raksha Bandhan. Last year, just before Raksha Bandhan, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made a commitment that has now been realized, as confirmed by Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya.

Ladli Behna Gas Subsidy Yojana 2024 Focus Points
The Madhya Pradesh government has stated that participants in the Ladli Behna scheme will be able to avail gas cylinders at a reduced price of Rs 450 for the entire year as a token of love or you can say a promise.

On 23 July, CM Dr. CM Yadav gifted a special gift for women in the holy month of Saawan and to honor them in the upcoming festival of Rakshabandhan. He stated that an additional amount of Rs 250 would be given to all beneficiary women under the ‘Laadli Behna Yojana’ in August. The CM also mentioned that the state government would transfer Rs 250 into the bank accounts of women beneficiaries of ‘Laadli Behna Yojana’ on 1 August, in addition to the Rs 1250 per month already being paid to each beneficiary. As a result, each woman beneficiary would receive Rs 1,500 for the month of August. This scheme is a part of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
