Why CTET is important ?
As per CBSE Affiliation Directory, minimum qualifications are introduced for teachers in various subjects in CBSE-affiliated schools and it requires them to have proven teaching experience in CBSE-affiliated schools after March 6, 2012. Those who are appointed to teach, have to pass the Central Teacher Eligibility Test.
CTET Certificate 2024 Validity
The period of validity of the CTET eligibility certificate for appointment will be a lifetime for all categories. There is no restriction on the number of times a person can attempt to obtain the CTET certificate. A person who has passed CTET can also retake it to improve his/her score.

CBSE CTET Exam 2024 Qualifying Marks
- A person who secures 60% or more marks in the TET examination will be considered as TET pass.

Passing Marks for CTET 2024 Exam
School managements (Government, local bodies, Government aided and unaided) may consider granting concessions to persons who are members of SC/ST, OBC, persons with various disabilities, etc. as per their existing reservation policy.
Important note : CTET score should be given importance in the recruitment process, however, passing CTET does not confer any right on a person for recruitment/employment, as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.
CTET Benefits
- CTET will be applicable for Central Government Schools (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and unmanaged and managed consumer-controlled schools of Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep.
- CTET applicants may also apply to financially aided private schools, which may consider CTET as a mediation.
- Schools run by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools observe the TET conducted by the State Government. However, if the State Government does not conduct State TET, then it can consider CTET also.
