Good news for Government employees: Employees will get 31 days of Leave
Uttarakhand state government has released a notification on the official website to Extend the earned leaves for the employees in the State Government for up to 31 days. Currently, employees can apply for EL in their department for a maximum 16 days in a month. Now they can apply for a maximum 31 days of regular ELs during the working days of the department according to the latest notification of the Uttarakhand State Government. So it is very good news for Government employees while working with Uttarakhand state in different departments to utilize earned leaves.
Earned Leaves Official Notification 2024
The secretary Dilip Jawalkar has signed an office memo superseding the Memorandum of Finance Department of Uttarakhand State for the earned leaves for Government employees. Employees can claim for maximum 300 earned leaves during their employment period. But if they want regular earned leave they get approval for only a maximum 16 leaves between January to June and the remaining 16 leaves can be applied between July to December month. But now the government has revised this notification for their employees and now they can claim ELs for maximum 31 days between January to December month at any time. Now there are no foundation of installment of 16 days as they can claim 31 day leaves from this notification. Notification has been applied from 1 January 2024 and now All the departments are following the guidelines of this notification.
Total 300 earned leaves for employees
The Government employees in Uttarakhand state have facilities to claim for earned leaves for a maximum of 300 during their employment. These leaves are provided for multiple purposes including self-development of the employees, Allowing leaves for completing the specific qualification or any other purpose. However, employees can also apply for a maximum 31 earned leaves in the department in a year from one January to 31 December. They will be allowed to use only 16 earned leaves from January to June month in a year, After that they can use rest 15 leaves from July to December month. But if any employee has not used the first 16 leaves from January to June, then now they have the option to claim these all leave with the upcoming 15 leaves till 31 December. So employees can apply for a maximum of 31 learned leaves at the ending months of the year till 31 December. However the government has superseded earned leaves duration, But the other rules will remain the same according to the previous notification for earned leaves in the state.
The government has approved the bill assembly
The chief minister of Uttarakhand State Mr Pushkar Singh Dhami has discussed with Government employees representatives in the last year and they have discussed with them about the demands of employees. One of the major demands was updating the earned leaves system in the state, The Government approved it in last year’s assembly and now it has been officially announced through the official memorandum. Apart from this, the department will also not detect an additional 20 percent of the salary from the women who are on maternity leave to take care of the children. So it is a good decision for Government employees in the state as they were also demanding to amend this act.
