Recently, Haryana Development and Panchayat Minister, Shri Devendra Singh Babli in a statement lauded the performance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Manohar Lal for taking strong steps towards women empowerment and self-reliance in the state’s initiatives.
He informed that under his leadership, the state government has taken important steps to improve the status of women through skill development step by step. This includes a major initiative like “Lakhpati Didi Yojana”, which aims to empower women by providing skill training opportunities to self-help groups across the country.

Objective of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana 2024
- Cabinet Minister Shri Devendra Singh Babli said that recently the Government of India has started the Lakhpati Didi Initiative program under the National Rural Livelihood Mission.
- In this programme, women from self-help groups are being identified who have increased their family income to Rs 1 lakh per annum and more.
- These women have started various employment by joining self-help groups, and they are being provided information and training on various types of employment.

“Empowering Women: Lakhpati Didi Scheme 2024 Initiative”

Lakhpati Didi program 2024
- Development and Panchayat Minister Shri Devendra Singh Babli participated as the chief guest in the Lakhpati Didi program held at village Parata in Tohana block of Fatehabad district.
- In the programme, the programs of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from West Bengal and Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal from Karnal were shown and narrated on the big screen.
- In the program, Didi Seema Rani flew the drone and gave detailed information about how it can be worked on.
Haryana Lakhpati Didi Yojana 2024 Eligibility
Women of Haryana state who want to apply for Haryana Lakhpati Didi Yojana 2024 should have the following eligibility : –
- The woman applying should be a native of Haryana.
- The age of the woman should be between 18 years to 50 years.
- Women associated with self-help groups will be eligible to avail the benefits of this scheme.
- The annual income of the woman applying should be less than ₹ 300000.
- No member of the family of the woman applying should be in a government job.

Progress of Lakhpati Didi Yojana 2024
- Panchayat Minister said that under Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission Fatehabad, 3917 women self-help groups have been established in all the districts. Of these, 39281 are women from rural poor families.
- 284 women’s village organizations have been established for the formation and promotion of self-help groups, making a total of 14 women’s cluster organizations in the district. Through this, women from poor rural families have been empowered economically, socially and politically.
- Various types of financial assistance are provided to Self Help Groups, in the form of soft loans, revolving funds, and community investment funds. Rs 422.95 lakh has been provided by the Mission as revolving fund to 3382 Self Help Groups of Fatehabad district and Rs 1271 lakh has been surrendered to 276 village organizations.
- Development and Panchayat Minister said that till now a total of 724 self-help groups have been formed in Tohana block.
- These groups include 7262 women from poor families, and a target has been set to create 11 thousand Lakhpati Didis in Fatehabad district.
- About 8 thousand Lakhpati Didis have already been selected in Fatehabad district, and these women have been prepared for training as Drone Didis.
- It is planned to run the canteen and common market by the SHG members after the training received from IHM and other institutions.
- Self-help groups are being assisted in the form of various types of financial assistance, soft loans, and community investment funds.
- The Minister said that these schemes aim to make women active as self-employed, and 50% reservation is being provided to empower women.
