AICTE Scholarship Scheme 2024-25: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) introduced a fresh scholarship program “AICTE Scholarship Scheme 2024” for female students enrolled in BBA, BCA, and BMS programs. This initiative is part of AICTE’s continuous efforts to establish a diverse, fair, and inclusive technical and management education environment in India. The announcement of the AICTE Scholarship Scheme 2024 was made by AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam in the esteemed presence of Ms. Rohini Bhajibhakare lAS, Private Secretary to the Minister of State for Education, who graced the International Women’s Day celebration at AICTE as the special chief guest.
The AICTE Scholarship Scheme 2024 will offer 3000 scholarships annually to economically disadvantaged female students studying in AICTE-approved institutions, with each student receiving an annual grant of Rs 25,000. AICTE will allocate Rs 7.5 crore per year for three years to support female students. This AICTE Scholarship Scheme 2024 is exclusively for female students pursuing BBA, BCA, and BMS courses from AICTE-approved institutions. The AICTE Chairman emphasized that the organization is dedicated to empowering women and unleashing their full potential in technical and management education. He mentioned the existing PRAGATI scheme for female engineering students and the new scheme for undergraduate management courses to promote gender equality, affordable education, and empowerment in management education. AICTE is committed to creating an inclusive environment where women not only excel but also lead the way in shaping the future of engineering and management. Over the years, there has been a notable increase in female enrollment in AICTE-approved institutions, with 39% of women enrolling in 2022-23, compared to 36% in 2021-22 and 30% in 2020-21.
On International Women’s Day, AICTE reiterates its commitment to empowering women in engineering and technology through its new and transformative initiatives.
