Post Matric Scholarship amount increased
The cabinet of the Uttarakhand government has announced to increase in scholarship amount for post-matric scholarship schemes for SC students in the state. After the announcement of the scheme, the financial assistance has been increased from 200 to a maximum of 1500 rupees according to the course and the scheme. The decision will increase the participation of SC community students in education. The government provides an annual scholarship amount to The Eligible beneficiaries in the state for each session, whereas the post-matric scheme for SC students provides a maximum of 12000 rupees annually but now students will receive 13500 rupees annually under the Social welfare Department of the Uttarakhand government post matric scholarship.
Group wise increment in scholarship
The scholarship is decided according to the course of the student and after that, you can apply the scholarship amount to complete your education accordingly. If you are pursuing graduation or post-graduation courses from a registered University regularly Then you will come under group A of the scholarships, while if you are pursuing any certificate for a diploma course then your scholarship will be provided under group B. Students who are under group A of scholarships and pursuing graduation or post-graduation in vocational courses will now receive the annual scholarship amount of 13500 rupees.
However these candidates were receiving a scholarship of 12000 from last year, and now they will receive 1500 rupees extra this year. Apart from this students of the Group B scholarship will receive 9500 annually and the Group C scholarship will provide a maximum scholarship of 6000 the last Group 4 scholarship is increased up to 4000 rupees from 3800.

Hostellers will get more benefit
Uttarakhand government has increased the scholarship amount for both students of hostlers and day scholars under the SC category while the scholarship amount for hostels is extra as compared to day scholars. While the hostlers will get 13500 rupees annually, day Scholars will receive 7000 annually under the group a scholarship for vocational courses. The Group B scholarship provides 9500 rupees to the hostels and 6500 rupees for day scholars, However, the government has not increased the scholarship amount for day Scholars and under the Group C scholarship category while hostellers will receive 6000 annually. Rs 200 has been increased for the group D scholarship category from 3800 to 4000 rupees and 2300 to 2500 rupees accordingly.
Decisions in Uttarakhand Cabinet meeting
Apart from the scholarship agreement, the cabinet has also taken other decisions including the Appointment of General and child counselors in District family courts in the state. Apart from this, the government has allotted the land of 5.335 acre for NIT Sumadi. The institute will develop the campus in the first stage under which land after that the government will allot more land accordingly.

Approval has been granted for amendments to the Uttarakhand Housing Policy, wherein beneficiaries under the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme will now receive a sum of two and a half lakh rupees from the state government, an increase from the previous one lakh rupees.
Additionally, under the Industrial Development Department, the positions of Joint Director of Mining and Joint Director of Geology will now be consolidated into Joint Directors, as per the approved amendment in the Service Regulations. Furthermore, the rights of employees in the subordinate accounts cadre of the Finance Department will henceforth be under the jurisdiction of the Finance Department, facilitated by the creation of a unified cadre.
