Rituals in Holi festival 2024
Holi is a riot of colours, but it’s also steeped in tradition. Here are the famous rituals associated with the festival:
Holika Dahan (Burning of Holika): This takes place the night before Holi. People gather around bonfires, sing, dance, and symbolically vanquish evil by burning an effigy of Holika, a demon from mythology.
Dhuleti (Playing with Colors): This is the main event, happening on Holi itself. People throw coloured powder (gulal) and water balloons filled with coloured water at each other. It’s a joyous free-for-all, where everyone gets drenched in vibrant hues.
Visiting Family and Friends: Holi is a time for mending fences and strengthening bonds. People visit loved ones, exchange sweets and gifts, and enjoy festive meals together. This reinforces the spirit of forgiveness and new beginnings.
Special Delicacies: Holi is incomplete without indulging in traditional treats. Gujiya (sweet fried dumplings), mathri (savoury fried flour discs), and malpuas (pancakes dipped in syrup) are some popular choices.

Holi Puja 2024
It is important to manage the ideals of Holika and Prahlad from cow dung, flowers, red thread, turmeric, green gram, sugar candy, colours, wheat, other crops including hola, sweets etc. after that Offer prayers to Lord Vishnu or any preferred deity, seeking blessings and protection. Offer flowers, fruits, and sweets. Light the bonfire while reciting mantras or chanting prayers. Add camphor and ghee to the fire for purification, Walk around the bonfire three times in a clockwise direction, symbolising the triumph of good over evil.
