According to the circular of UIDAI, the Aadhar card is a unique identification card of a person in India according to the Aadhar Act 2016, but the act does not mention Aadhar as a date of birth of also, so the Aadhar Card cannot be used for age verification purpose.
UIDAI has identified that the Aadhar card is still used for age verification as a birth proof document, so by saying this scenario, UIDAI has released a separate circular in 2023 and released a directive for companies and agencies to not consider Aadhar as the date of birth proof. So now EPFO has also followed these directives and was earlier accepting Aadhar cards for date of birth verification.
